Greta Stearman
Greta is from upstate New York. She graduated with a BA from college of Saint Rose, Albany, NY in biology 1994 . She interned in Florida at the Theater of the Sea in 1993, where she worked with captive marine animals including dolphins, sea lions, lemon sharks, three species of sea turtles, bat rays, and other vertebrates and invertebrates. Her second internship took her to Maui in 1995 with the Pacific Whale Foundation. There she assisted researchers in data collection of the humpback whale. Then in 1996, she drove from New York to California with her large shepherd husky mix, Max, to demand that the Monterey Bay Aquarium hire her. There she worked in the sea otter research and conservation program for a total of eight years. "Absolutely, some of the most rewarding work I've ever done. I cared for intensively, sea otters of all ages and ailments. Very cool stuff." In 2004, Greta joined the great crew at Ocean View for more animal experiences in the terrestrial sense. She spends most of her time off hanging out with the coolest dog ever, Clyde, a cheetah/antelope mix and her partner in crime, Miles.
